JUNIOR SCHOOL MINI MARATHON

On Friday 1st May, the 135 pupils from the Junior School took part in their own fun-run, inspired London marathon! Children worked together to see how many laps they could each run within their time frame, stopping for breaks at their designated water stations if needed. Altogether, the children completed an impressive combined 425 miles.  During the event, pupils managed to achieve new personal bests and worked collaboratively to encourage each other and raise money for charity.

YEAR 3/4 GOLF

On Monday 27th April, we put together a Phase 1 golfing team for children who have enjoyed playing mini-golf outside of school and wanted to develop their skills as part of a team. The children practised their aim and putting skills with a variety of different golf clubs and took part in a range of different skill-based activities to earn points together, working on the distance they could hit their balls, aiming for different targets and differentiating what golf club would be best to use based on the aim of the task.

We have had a very busy and successful start to the summer term, participating in a variety of competitive sporting events.

YEAR 6 GIRLS NETBALL TEAM

The year 6 girls have been playing in a Wokingham netball league, competing weekly to qualify for the finals. The girls were challenged to rotate netball positions, forcing them out of their comfort zone to learn new skills and work well as a team whilst playing various mini netball games. Last Tuesday, the girls played in the final and came in first place after all their hard work. It was a very close final game, as Robert Piggott won by a single goal within the last minute, but a very well deserved win for our girls.

YEAR 3/4 BADMINTON

Following on from the last qualifying event, our year 3/4 badminton team continued on to the final badminton skills competition. The team worked together to achieve as many points as possible as they moved from station to station, competing in a variety of different badminton challenges. Robert Piggott came out on top, and we were pleased to walk away with gold medals.

CROSS-COUNTRY

We sadly say goodbye to cross country until next year as the weather begins to warm up. Our school competed in the final run of relay teams for the final event against all schools in the borough and had a blast encouraging one another during their final run of the year. The children's extreme hard work paid off in excess as we walked away with four trophies and countless medals, and we took overall runner-up in our division.

GIRLS' FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

On 13th March, some of our Year 5 girls with a passion for football were personally invited to a mini-football tournament hosted at Holme Grange School.  Our team came second overall and some of our players were specifically chosen for their positive attitude and amazing skills throughout the day.  Rosie Roberts was awarded player of the match by her team spirit and amazing ability to set up goals, whilst Wellie Hardie-Gleed was awarded player of the day out of all those participating.  The girls were able to bond over football, develop their skills, learn new things and have fun playing the sport.

KURLING

On Tuesday 10th March, some of our Junior pupils attended a kurling inclusion event at Bohunt School.  They practised their skills in a number of events, including matches against another school.

BOTH SCHOOL GYMNASTICS

The week commencing 26th January 2026, both schools had a very busy week of gymnastics.  Pupils from the Infants, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 promoted teamwork, good sportsmanship and a love of gymnastics.

The infants spent the morning exploring the gymnastics arena, learning new skills and trying out equipment.

The Juniors competed against other schools in events including vault, springboard and tumbling.  They worked hard to create their own unique routines and performed them to judges.

YEAR 5/6 TAG RUGBY

On 22nd September 2025, the children attended a Rugby Megafest at The Forest School.  They were a credit to the school, listening to the young leaders and throwing themselves into it.  There was lots of laughter, sweat and fun from the seven pupils that attended.  They did rugby skills and circuits.  They demonstrated all our school values.
