R.E.
Our children flourish through a rich and engaging curriculum that reflects the Church of England’s Statement of Entitlement for Religious Education.
We follow the Pan-Berkshire syllabus of Key Questions and outcomes, delivered through a blend of Understanding Christianity, units from the Oxford Diocese, and Discovery RE. This syllabus provides pupils with a deeper understanding of Christianity as a global faith, enabling them to explore theological concepts through rigorous enquiry while also learning about other world religions.
The teaching of RE is central to our vision. Pupils are encouraged to be curious and regularly engage with “big questions” (What if?), fostering critical thinking and reflection. Through these explorations, children discover more about themselves, their relationships with others, the wider world, and with God. Learning about Jesus’ life and ministry inspires pupils to live out Christian values and to serve others courageously, following His example. Children are supported to recognise and use their unique gifts and talents, particularly in ways that benefit others.
Our RE curriculum balances the study of Christian and non-Christian faiths, which pupils approach with curiosity and respect. By engaging with diverse beliefs and practices within and across faiths, children develop mutual respect, tolerance, and an informed understanding of global faith communities. This equips them to become courageous advocates for justice, equality, and compassion in an increasingly interconnected world.

Here at Robert Piggott CE Federation we celebrate our close relationship with St Mary's Church.

REInspired
We welcomed REInspired to the Junior School in May 2025 and their vision is to enhance pupils' spiritual development through creative engagement with people of faith in educational settings. They actively support and enrich the religious education syllabus.
